From a small family idea to a full-service home for pets and the people who love them.
My parents and I opened Mighty Pet together, built on a simple idea: pets deserve people who genuinely care about them, not just a place to buy supplies.
Our customers were asking for more than food and toys. They needed somewhere to trust with their pets' care, so we expanded into the Lodge, Day Camp, and grooming.
We grew our training services further, welcoming Meghan Smith, CPDT-KA, to help pets and their people build stronger bonds through better behavior and communication.
In April 2024, we welcomed Dog Nanny into the Mighty Pet family, acquiring the beloved in-home pet care business from Jody Coopmans.
Today, Mighty Pet is a full-service home for pets and the people who love them: retail, lodging, day camp, training, grooming, and in-home care, all under one roof, all rooted in the same values we started with back in 2009.
Mighty Pet combines six pet services in Menominee MI and other nearby towns of Marinette and Peshtigo WI. You don’t have to explain your pet’s history five times to five different strangers… one team, one file, one place that knows the whole picture.
Our shelves carry natural food only. No Beneful, no Pedigree, no grocery-store dyes or artificial preservatives, no China-sourced treats. Mostly US-made. If a food doesn’t work for your pet, bring it back, even partially used, and we’ll find another option together.
Overnight lodging in our facility, day camp included. Your dog gets a real cabin, not a cage stacked in a hallway. Your cats get a cozy condo. We never leave dogs unattended outside their lodging.
Not open-play-all-day. We rotate rest and play, match small groups by personality, not breed or size, and pull dogs out before they get overwhelmed. Add-ons like nanny walks, puzzle games, and a training session are available.
Full grooming for dogs, from baths to full haircuts. Cats get nail trims only. We don’t groom cats, and we’d rather tell you that upfront than overpromise.
Private sessions and group classes led by Meghan M. Smith, CPDT-KA. Foundation Manners classes run year-round. Seasonal workshops cover everything from nosework to shed antler hunting.
Vacation care visits, midday dog walks, cat sitting, and overnight stays, in your home, on your pet’s schedule. Every Dog Nanny is background checked, bonded, and trained through our internal Pet Care Technician program before their first solo visit.

No. You can book boarding, day camp, grooming, training, or pet sitting without ever shopping in the store, though most of our clients end up doing both.
