Spring is here and the warmer weather is glorious after a long winter. However, warm weather brings some small challenges for pet owners. Fleas & Ticks and Shedding animals! If you are like\u00a0\"Dog-Grooming-Mighty-Pet\"

  1. Brush your pet and brush often, even daily. A de-shedding tool that removes the undercoat works to reduce shedding.<\/li>\n
  2. Make sure you have the right brush for the right type of coat. Most dogs would require more than one brush. For example, a short haired dog would need a de-shedding tool for the undercoat and a curry brush for the top coat. While a long haired dog may need a shedding blade, de-matting comb and slicker brush.<\/li>\n
  3. Feed a quality pet food that contains good digestible proteins and has oil content of 2% or greater. This would typically be listed on your food label as Linoleic Acid or Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids.<\/li>\n
  4. Consider adding a coat enhancing supplement to your dog\u2019s diet. From salmon oil to skin and coat treats there are a lot of supplements to choose from to help enhance your pet\u2019s coat.<\/li>\n
  5. Keep em\u2019 clean! Giving them frequent baths during the summer will keep their coat healthier and a healthy coat sheds less. We would recommend an oatmeal shampoo if you\u2019re bathing frequently, but no more than once a week. Also, make sure your water temperature isn\u2019t too hot. This can dry out the dog\u2019s skin.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
